COPPA Statement to Parents and Guardians

This is the website of Concept2, Inc. Our Postal address is: 105 Industrial Park Drive Morrisville, VT 05661. We can be reached via e-mail at or by telephone at 800.245.5676 or 802.888.7971 outside of the US or Canada.

In order for your child to enjoy all of the features of this website, including training logs, online ranking, and challenge honor boards, your child may wish to create an online "ranking and logbook profile."

The registration process begins when your child visits the new profile section of the online ranking. Based on your child's reported birthdate, if we determine that the child is under the age of thirteen (13), then we will not store personally identifiable information associated with your child. This means that only the first letter of their last name will be stored, that no email address will be associated with your child's profile and that no city information will be recorded.

If you, as a parent or guardian, wish to have your child's full last name, and home city displayed on publicly accessible ranking web pages, honor boards and other Concept2 associated web pages, you must indicate your consent by entering your credit card number in the space provided and checking the appropriate consent box. Your credit card number is neither stored nor processed in any way—however it will be analyzed to determine that it is a valid credit card number. The use of a credit card number is necessary in order to comply with the terms of COPPA. The entry of a credit card number will also allow us to store an email address in your child's profile. This email address may be that of the parent or the child. Having this email address on file will ensure that your child receives notice of upcoming challenges and other rowing events.

Information Collected

We respect the privacy of children, and do not collect any more personal information than reasonably necessary to enable them to participate in the activities we offer at our website.

Once we have express consent from you as outlined above, we will permit your child to enter his or her profile which will include your child's e-mail address (or that of their parent), first name, full last name, and city of residence. We will also permit your child to enter rowing workout information, including free text comments. The information we collect is used exclusively in the on-line ranking log and challenge honor boards. We do not have any agreements with outside organizations to collect personal information at our website. We do not share children's (or adult's) personal information with any third party.

Parental Review

As a parent, you have the legal right to review and secure correction of personal information that we have obtained from your child under the age of 13. You also have the right to withdraw or limit your previous consent to our collection and use of the personal information of your child under the age of 13. In order to exercise these rights, parents should contact us by email at:; by telephone at 802.888.7971 or toll free (US and Canada) at 800.245.5676; or by mail at the address set forth above. We will not release any personal information of children under the age of 13 to persons claiming to be those children's parents without verification that the child's parent is requesting the information.

If we make any material change to this notice or the informational practices with regard to children that were in effect when your consent to the collection of your child's personal information was obtained, we will, as required by law, send you a new notice and request your consent.

We take seriously our obligation to safeguard the confidentiality, security and integrity of personal information collected from our customers, and have established and will maintain procedures that are designed for that purpose.
